MORE SONGS ABOUT HEARTS, LIPS, KENTUCKY ON OHIO AND THE COMINGS AND GOINGS OF THE LUSTER, LORE AND LURE OF LOVE AND LUST.
Out this fall "Wonder Lust". the pensive and lush third album from Ohio’s, New Sincerity Works.
Welcome to another round of modest, heart on your sleeve tunes mashed up with indie-pop, Americana and 1980's guitar-driven new wave. The group’s familiar, yet fresh presentation has invited comparisons to a second distant cousin of Alex Chilton as well as Guided By Voices, Paul Westerberg, Phoenix and the Postal Service.
In the third effort in NSW’s discography, color and light abound with a more hopeful palette of tones. Synthesizers add more sonic texture and the introduction of Lauren Bray on keyboards and vocals checks the box on a more diverse approach. Recorded during the winter of 2016 at Tittel’s Fruit Hill studio, the songs grew out of a very different non-musical project. “I was asked to publish a photo book. A visual diary of people, places and memories of my life bascially. The publisher’s idea was to combine photo book with a collection of songs that I’d write using the photos as inspiration. For a few reasons I didn’t publish the book. But I did write the songs so they live on here as a record. I’m aware now, that I had written songs about being in and out of love. Songs about facets of love but not at all love songs.” Mike Tittel, New Sincerity Works.
