Through the generosity of a talented friend, Michael Holder, we have a lovely film to share. It is called "Nowhere Ohio". It tells the story of the band, the songs and the record "44". The film was shot over the course of two sessions in Fruit Hill, Ohio during the summer of 2014. It features a live acoustic recording of the song "Sincerely" as well as a few early mixes of some of the other album track along with some practicing and interview footage.
So what did we learn while making this film whilst being on both sides of the camera? Here are our Top Four Things to Consider When Making a Documentary:
1. Saying less is always best. And when you say less, say what you mean.
2. When editing let it marinate. And then cut some more.
3. Let it be what it wants to be. Not what you thought it would be.
4. Nobody likes being videotaped. Be kind.
